We are Nella and Nadia, mother and daughter, and together we are De Keramiekerij. What began ten years ago as a way for Nella to find creativity and peace, evolved into a distinct and recognizable vision for ceramics. Fascinated by the beauty of her work, Nadia knew for certain: this was too beautiful not to share. From that shared passion, our honest and artisanal brand was born.

To make this a werking reality, we rolled up our sleeves. What was once a dark shed in the backyard, we personally transformed into our own light-filled studio. Through trial and error, plenty of practice, and the occasional mishap in the kiln, we learned to follow the 'flow' of the clay. It is precisely this unpolished process that has shaped who we are today.

Our greatest love is the transformation of a cold lump of clay into a unique eyecatcher that brings joy to your everyday life—like your favorite coffee mug. In a world of mass production, we consciously choose a pure product with its own character. When you buy an item from De Keramiekerij, you are choosing time and attention. Crafting a single piece takes an average of two weeks; from patient shaping and drying to glazing and several rounds in the kiln.

Making ceramics is not an exact science. Clay and glaze have a will of their own, making every result a surprise. To us, that is the core of our craft: those small imperfections are exactly what make a product perfect. Every item is unique, has its own character, and is ready to be cherished for years to come.
